Sure, you can probably go to a local mom & pop Italian restaurant and get quality like this, but did you know that you can easily get the same delicious taste for a small fraction of the price!? My father-in-law is 50% Italian/50% Polish. My Mother-in-law is a mix of German and Irish. She was lucky enough to have learned this Homemade Marinara Sauce Recipe from HER Italian mother-in-law, which was in-turn passed down from her Italian immigrant great grandmother! So there is a lot of history in this recipe, and we are keeping it going when we make this and share it with the world!
This recipe takes a little time, so be prepared to spend some hours around the house. This is PERFECT for Saturday or Sunday cooking. There's really not a ton of work aside from stirring the pot every 15 minutes—FOR SEVERAL HOURS. But with that aside, this recipe is super easy and ANYONE CAN DO IT! Be smart and make a big batch like we do! You can freeze portions for easy quick and healthy weekday dinners! We simply store ours in Mason jars in the freezer. When thawed out, it still tastes fresh and amazing and WAY BETTER than any store bought variety!
